Polüvinüülkloriid, commonly known as PVC, is a widely produced synthetic plastic polymer. Its chemical formula is (C2H3Cl)n. PVC is manufactured through the polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer. The resulting polymer is a rigid material, but its properties can be significantly modified by the addition of plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, and other additives. These additives allow PVC to be manufactured in a variety of forms, from rigid pipes to flexible films.
PVC is known for its durability, resistance to chemicals and abrasion, and its electrical insulating properties.
