Polttamatta is a Finnish term meaning not burned or not lit. It functions as an adjective and an adverb and is formed from the verb polttaa (to burn) with the negative suffix -matta. The central sense is that something has not undergone combustion or ignition.

In ceramics, polttamaton savi refers to unfired clay, commonly known as greenware. This state precedes kiln firing; once fired, the material becomes poltettu keramiikka or simply fired ceramic.

In safety and materials descriptions, polttamatta describes materials that have not burned or charred under a given heat exposure, such as during flame-resistance testing where the sample remains polttamatta.
