Policyanalytic refers to the systematic evaluation of public policy options to inform decision makers. It combines evidence gathering, normative judgment, and analytical modeling to assess potential impacts, costs, benefits, and trade-offs of alternatives. Policy analysts typically undertake problem definition, agenda setting, option generation, impact forecasting, risk assessment, and evaluation design, and communicate findings to policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.
