Pojatý is a small village and cadastral unit located in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, within the administrative jurisdiction of the municipality of Hustopeče. The settlement lies approximately 12 km north of the district capital, Kutná Hora, and 60 km east of Prague, situated on the banks of the Jihlava River valley. According to the 2021 census, the population of Pojatý is 175 residents, and the cadastral area covers 4.2 square kilometres.

The earliest documented reference to the village dates back to 1373, where it is recorded in a royal charter as “Pojaty.” The name is believed to derive from the Old Slavic root *pojiti, meaning “to weave” or “to bind,” reflecting the importance of textile production in the area during the Middle Ages. The village’s location on a trade route between the Kingdom of Bohemia and the western provinces facilitated the spread of weaving technology and contributed to the community’s development as a local centre of cloth manufacture.

A key landmark of Pojatý is the Church of Saint John the Baptist, a timber‑framed structure constructed in 1690 in the Baroque style. The church houses a 19th‑century altar and a set of bells that were cast in the nearby village of Hořič. In addition, the village preserves a series of 17th‑century tile‑houselings that illustrate the typical building techniques of the region.

The local economy is predominantly agrarian, with small‑scale dairy farming, crop cultivation, and forestry forming the backbone of employment. In recent years, the municipality has promoted sustainable tourism, offering walking trails along the Jihlava River and cultural heritage tours that showcase the village’s historic architecture and traditional crafts.

Pojatý is accessible by regional bus line no. 211, which connects it with Hustopeče, Kutná Hora, and Prague. A network of local roads maintains its links to the surrounding agricultural districts, and the nearest railway station is located in the town of Jičín, 28 km to the north.
