Common types include educational projects such as school gardens and citizen science monitoring; conservation and habitat restoration through native planting and pollinator corridors; urban greening and landscape projects such as green roofs, parks, and street trees; horticultural research and propagation trials; and community agriculture and food systems initiatives.

The typical process involves defining objectives and scope, securing funding and permissions, selecting sites and plant species, preparing soil and infrastructure (irrigation, drainage, and fencing), establishing maintenance routines, and ongoing monitoring of growth, phenology, and ecological effects. Results are analyzed and shared with stakeholders, and documentation informs future projects.
