piiskanne
Piiskanne is a traditional Estonian board game, popular in the country since the late 19th century. The game is played on a specially designed board with several pockets and compartments. Players throw metal rods, known as piisk, into the board, aiming to get the stakes from the pockets. Each player has a set of piisk, which they use in turn to try and collect the stakes.
The board has various figures, such as houses, churches, and bridges, that indicate the number of stakes
Piiskanne is a social game, where players often bet on the outcome, making it a popular pastime
In recent years, efforts have been made to preserve and popularize the game among younger generations. Organizations
