pickupniveaus
Pickupniveaus, literally “pickup levels” in Dutch, is a term used to describe the range of signal amplitudes at which a pickup, transducer, or sensor can reliably produce output. The concept applies in several domains, notably audio equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition, to characterize a device’s usable dynamic range and sensitivity.
In audio engineering, pickupniveaus refer to the voltage level generated by a pickup or microphone before amplification.
In sensors and detectors, pickupniveaus describe the device’s sensitivity and output range. They are determined by
Measurement and use: engineers determine pickupniveaus by applying known inputs and recording outputs to verify linearity
