phraseas
Phraseas are a class of multiword units recognized as single semantic entries in lexicons and natural language processing systems. They function as single units in parsing, generation, and translation, even when composed of two or more words. The term phrasea is a portmanteau of phrase and as, used in computational linguistics to denote a phrase treated as a unit.
The concept arose in recent discussions of fixed expressions and has connections to multiword expressions (MWEs)
Core features include relatively fixed word order, limited productive variation, and a meaning that does not
In applications, phraseas improve machine translation alignment, language modeling, and information retrieval by providing compact representations
