Methods to study phosphorylation-dependent regulation include phosphoproteomics and mass spectrometry to identify modification sites, phospho-specific antibodies, and mutagenesis of phosphorylation sites (for example, substituting serine/threonine/tyrosine with nonphosphorylatable residues) to assess functional effects.
