When a victim enters their login credentials or personal information on these fake sites, the phishingist captures and misuses this data. This can lead to identity theft, financial fraud, and unauthorized access to personal accounts. Phishingists vary in their technical sophistication, from individuals conducting opportunistic attacks to organized criminal syndicates executing large-scale campaigns.
