Pelukis is the Malay and Indonesian term for a painter—an artist who creates paintings by applying pigments to surfaces such as canvas, paper, or walls. The word is formed from lukis, meaning to paint or draw, and denotes a person who practices the craft.

Pelukis work across traditional and contemporary art, using media such as oil paints, acrylics, watercolors, pastel, or mixed media. They may specialize in portraits, landscapes, still life, abstraction, or narrative and conceptual work. Some pelukis create murals or public artworks, while others focus on studio-based painting.
