Patellære is an anatomical term used in several Nordic languages to denote a relation to the patella, the small round bone at the front of the knee commonly known as the kneecap. The term is formed from patella (Latin for kneecap) and a suffix used to indicate belonging or relation.

Anatomically, patellære structures refer to features connected with the patella. The patella sits in the quadriceps tendon and articulates with the femur in the patellofemoral joint. The patellar tendon runs from the lower edge of the patella to the tibia, transmitting the force of the quadriceps to extend the knee.

The patella increases the mechanical advantage of the quadriceps by changing the line of pull, improving knee extension. Patellære conditions can include patellofemoral pain syndrome, patellar dislocation or subluxation, and patellar tendinopathy. Injuries may result from overuse, trauma, or malalignment, and treatment ranges from physical therapy to, in rare cases, surgical intervention.
