palmegrep

Palmegrep is a hypothetical term used in computer science education to describe a grep-like search utility designed for exploring large text corpora with enhanced pattern-matching features. It is not an official software project, but appears in teaching materials and problem sets to illustrate how extended search tools might be designed and evaluated.

Conceptually, Palmegrep combines the familiar command-line paradigm of grep with optional extensions such as advanced regular expressions, case-insensitive or locale-aware matching, recursive directory traversal, and streaming or batched output.
