The most widely recognized pallet format globally is the Euro Pallet, also called the EUR-pallet or EPAL pallet, which measures 1200 mm by 800 mm (approximately 47 inches by 31 inches). This format is prevalent in Europe and has become an industry standard due to its durability and compatibility with European logistics systems. The EUR-pallet supports a maximum load capacity typically around 1,000 to 1,200 kilograms (2,200 to 2,600 pounds).

In North America, the industry primarily uses the GMA pallet, which measures 48 inches by 40 inches (approximately 1219 mm by 1016 mm). This pallet is standard in the United States and Canada, optimized for retail and warehouse operations. GMA pallets often support loads exceeding 3,000 pounds, depending on the construction.

Other common pallet formats include the Australian Standard pallet (1165 mm by 1165 mm), the British pallet (1200 mm by 1000 mm), and various custom sizes tailored to specific industry needs. Pallet formats can vary based on material (wood, plastic, metal), construction, and regional standards.
