pHanturit is a rare and distinctive mineral discovered in 2019 in the Kola Peninsula of Russia, specifically within the Lovozero alkaline massif. It was named after the fictional character "Phantur," a mythical creature from the local Nenets people’s folklore, reflecting its unusual and enigmatic nature. The mineral’s chemical composition is a complex borosilicate, with the formula Na₃CaB₃Si₃O₁₂(OH)₃·H₂O, indicating its combination of sodium, calcium, boron, silicon, oxygen, and water.

pHanturit crystallizes in the triclinic system, forming small, transparent to translucent crystals that often exhibit a pale yellow to white hue. Its structure is notable for its layered arrangement, which contributes to its delicate, almost fibrous appearance. The mineral is typically found in pegmatitic veins associated with nepheline syenite, a type of igneous rock rich in sodium and calcium.

Due to its rarity, pHanturit has garnered attention from mineralogists and collectors.
