Oxidieren is a German verb meaning to oxidize; oxidierten is its simple past (Präteritum) form used to describe that a substance underwent oxidation in the past. The past participle is oxidiert, used with haben or sein in perfect tenses. The form oxidierten can also function as the third-person plural preterite, as in "Die Metalle oxidierten im Regen."
