Otannan is a city-state and archipelago in the northern Otanni Sea. It comprises six inhabited islands and several smaller islets, with Port Otanna serving as the capital and primary harbor. The population is concentrated in coastal towns, while interior areas are more sparsely inhabited. The archipelago has a temperate maritime climate and a long maritime tradition.

The name Otannan derives from the Otanni language, meaning "harbor of birds." The islands lie along busy shipping lanes, giving Otannan a strategic role in regional trade. The terrain is rugged, with rocky coastlines, pine forests, and deep bays. Local ecosystems support fisheries, aquaculture, and nature reserves.

Otannan grew from a fishing village into a trading center by the late medieval period. In the 19th century it adopted a constitutional government and, following a 1948 reform, established a bicameral legislature consisting of the Assembly and the Senate. The head of state is a largely ceremonial president; day-to-day governance is exercised by a prime minister and cabinet.

The economy centers on fishing and seafood processing, shipbuilding, logistics, and growing tourism. Otannan exports fish products, timber, and citrus fruits, and is expanding renewable energy installations around its coasts. The official language is Otanni, with English widely taught. Cultural life centers on maritime festivals, craft markets, and seafood cuisine, including reef fish and seaweed dishes. Notable sites include Port Otanna, the Otanni Museum of Maritime History, and the Lighthouse of Silver Point.
