Orkestri is the Albanian term for an orchestra, a large instrumental ensemble that typically performs classical music and related genres. The standard configuration includes four sections: strings (violins, violas, cellos, double basses) as the core; woodwinds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon); brass (trumpets, horns, trombones, tubas); and percussion (timpani, bass drum, snare, cymbals), with occasional keyboards, harp, or other instruments. The orchestra may vary in size from a chamber ensemble of about 15 to 50 players to a full symphony orchestra of roughly 70 to 100 musicians.
