opleggers
Opleggers are the semi-trailer portion of heavy road transport commonly used in the Netherlands and other European countries. An oplegger is designed to be attached to a tractor unit via a fifth-wheel coupling. The trailer carries the cargo and has its own wheels and axles, but it does not possess an engine or propulsion. When connected, the tractor and oplegger form a tractor-trailer combination used for long-haul and distribution work.
