Okusioonsemad is an Estonian term formed from oklusioon (occlusion) with a comparative suffix, used to describe items, materials, or conditions that block passage more effectively than a reference. The concept spans several domains where the degree of occlusion matters, such as moisture, air, or light barrier properties.

In medicine, occlusive dressings create a sealed or semi-sealed environment over a wound. More occlusive dressings—oklusioonsemad—trap greater moisture and heat, which can support a moist wound bed and certain healing processes but may also increase the risk of maceration in surrounding skin or bacterial growth if exudate is not managed properly.
