nyloninzet

Nyloninzet is a term used in Dutch to describe the nylon insert used in certain locking nuts, commonly called nylon insert locknuts or nyloc nuts. The nylon insert is a molded polyamide segment inside the threaded bore of the nut that acts as a self-locking element.

When the nut is threaded onto a bolt, the bolt threads cut into the nylon insert, displacing

Materials and variants: The insert is usually a nylon polymer (often Nylon 6/6) molded into the nut.

Applications and limitations: Nyloninzet locknuts are widely used in automotive, machinery, and consumer electronics where vibration
