Nyelvterápia, often translated as speech therapy or language therapy, is a field dedicated to the assessment and treatment of communication disorders. It addresses a wide range of difficulties affecting speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing. Professionals in this field, known as nyelvterapeuták (speech-language pathologists or speech therapists), work with individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

Speech disorders can include articulation problems, where a person has difficulty producing specific sounds, or phonological disorders, involving patterns of sound errors. Language disorders encompass both receptive language issues, affecting the ability to understand spoken or written language, and expressive language problems, hindering the ability to formulate and communicate thoughts.
