Nonconfirmable is an adjective used to describe a statement, hypothesis, or proposition that cannot be verified through available evidence or observation. A nonconfirmable claim is one for which no feasible method exists now or in principle to establish its truth beyond reasonable doubt, even if it is not contradicted by any observed data.

In debates about science and knowledge, nonconfirmability is often contrasted with falsifiability and testability. A nonconfirmable claim may still be falsifiable (possible to refute by a counterexample) or it may be structured so that no possible observation could count as confirming evidence. The term is frequently used in philosophy of science to distinguish empirically intractable propositions from those that can be tested and revised in light of evidence. Critics argue that reliance on nonconfirmable propositions reduces falsifiability and undermines objective inquiry, while supporters may view such claims as necessary boundary conditions or components of broader theoretical frameworks.
