"Nichtpolaren" is a German term that translates to "nonpolar" in English. In chemistry, this term describes a molecule or a chemical bond that has an even distribution of electron density. This means that there is no significant separation of positive and negative charges across the molecule or bond.

Nonpolar molecules typically arise from one of two situations. Either the molecule consists of atoms that have very similar or identical electronegativity, leading to equal sharing of electrons.
