ngada

Ngada refers to an indigenous people of central Flores in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, as well as to the Ngada language spoken by this community. It is also the name of Ngada Regency (Kabupaten Ngada), a administrative district on Flores Island whose capital is Bajawa. The Ngada are one of the ethnic groups that contribute to the island’s cultural diversity.

Geography and society: The Ngada homeland lies in the highland areas around Bajawa, in a rugged volcanic landscape with fertile valleys.
