Májtranszplantáció is the surgical procedure to replace a diseased or damaged liver with a healthy liver from a donor. This life-saving operation is considered when a patient's liver is no longer functioning adequately, a condition often referred to as liver failure. Common causes for the need for a liver transplant include chronic liver diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatitis B and C, alcoholic liver disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
