musteloid
A musteloid is a member of the suborder Caniformia, which also includes dogs, bears, and seals. The term "musteloid" refers to a diverse group of carnivoran mammals that share a common ancestor. This suborder is characterized by a relatively elongated body, short legs, and a long tail. While the exact evolutionary relationships within the musteloid lineage are still debated by scientists, they are generally divided into several families, including the Mustelidae (weasels, otters, badgers, ferrets), Procyonidae (raccoons, coatis, kinkajous), Ailuridae (red panda), and Mephitidae (skunks).
These animals inhabit a wide range of environments across the globe, from terrestrial forests and grasslands
