mundësia

Mundësia (Albanian pronunciation: [mundɛsija]) is a town and a former municipality in the Dibër County, northeastern Albania. It is located in the Dibër District, approximately 10 kilometers north of the county seat, Peshkopi. The town is situated in the valley of the Mat River, which flows through the area.

Mundësia was part of the former municipality of Peshkopi. In 2015, Albania's local government reforms led to the creation of the municipality of Peshkopi, which includes the former municipalities of Peshkopi, Gurrë, and Mundësia. The municipality has a population of approximately 2,500 people, with Mundësia serving as its administrative center.

The town is known for its natural beauty, with the Mat River providing a scenic backdrop to the area. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling hills and dense forests, which are home to a variety of flora and fauna. Mundësia is also known for its traditional Albanian architecture, with many of the town's buildings dating back to the Ottoman period.
