Multicuspid refers to a dental anatomy term describing a tooth with multiple cusps. Cusps are the pointed or rounded projections on the chewing surface of a tooth. While most posterior teeth, such as premolars and molars, are naturally multicuspid, the term can also be used to describe variations in tooth morphology.

In humans, premolars typically have one or two cusps, with the first premolar often having two. Molars are generally multicuspid, with the first and second molars commonly having three to five cusps. The number and arrangement of cusps are important for efficient chewing and grinding of food.
