Muistiversioita, Finnish for memory versions, refers to saved copies of data created at different points in time to preserve prior content and enable restoration. The term is used broadly in information technology to describe any retained iteration of a file, document, database, or system state.

In computing, muistiversioita arise through autosave features, revision histories, backup schemes, and snapshot technologies. Version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or Mercurial explicitly manage memory-like versions of source code by recording commits that reflect changes over time. File systems and operating systems offer snapshots or restore points (for example, Time Machine or ZFS snapshots) that capture a state of data at a moment. Cloud storage services commonly maintain versioned files, letting users revert to earlier variants.
