A minilämmitin, also known as a portable heater or personal heater, is a compact and lightweight heating device designed for localized heating of small spaces. These heaters are typically electric and utilize a heating element, often ceramic or nichrome wire, to generate warmth. They are commonly used in offices, dorm rooms, workshops, or other areas where a central heating system may be insufficient or unavailable.

Minilämmittimet come in various designs, including fan heaters, radiant heaters, and convection heaters. Fan heaters use a fan to circulate warm air, providing rapid heating. Radiant heaters emit infrared radiation that directly warms objects and people in their path. Convection heaters warm the air, which then circulates naturally. Safety features are a common consideration, with many models including tip-over protection to automatically shut off the unit if it falls, and overheat protection to prevent excessive temperatures.
