Mercury-containing refers to materials or products that include mercury in elemental or compound form. Disposal and cleanup should follow local guidelines, with emphasis on preventing release and enabling safe recycling or remediation. Alternatives include digital thermometers, lead-free and mercury-free lighting, and non-mercury switches and dental materials.
