Mediumcalibre (also written as medium caliber) is a term used in military and defense contexts to describe weapons whose bore diameter is larger than most small arms but smaller than the large-caliber artillery. Because it is not a formal, universally standardized category, the exact boundary of what constitutes medium-calibre varies by nation, era, and service, and it is often used more in descriptive or historical writing than in current doctrine.

Historically, the designation has appeared in both naval and land warfare contexts. In naval terminology, medium-calibre guns typically referred to mid-sized naval artillery, larger than light guns but smaller than the largest battleship and heavy cruiser weapons, and were used for fleet defense and shore bombardment. On land, the label has been applied to field guns and anti-aircraft pieces designed to balance range, firepower, and mobility—larger than light field guns but not in the same category as heavy siege or specialist artillery.
