maritashi
Maritashi, also known as "maritame" or "maritame-ike," is a traditional Japanese confectionery consisting of a small, round, and thin cake filled with red bean paste. The cake is typically made from a simple batter of flour, sugar, and water, which is then steamed and cooled before being filled. The red bean paste, known as anko, is a sweet filling made from azuki beans, sugar, and sometimes a small amount of water or syrup. The cake and filling are then coated with a thin layer of powdered sugar, giving the maritashi its characteristic white exterior.
Maritashi is often enjoyed as a snack or dessert, either on its own or with a cup
