Magasnyomtatásban is a Hungarian term that translates to "in high printing" or more broadly, "in relief printing" or "in letterpress printing". It refers to a family of printing techniques where the image or text is produced by a raised, inked surface. In this method, the areas that are to be printed are raised from the surface of the printing plate, while the areas that are not to be printed are recessed.

Historically, letterpress printing, a form of high printing, was the dominant method of printing for centuries. Gutenberg's invention of movable type in the 15th century revolutionized printing and relied on the principles of letterpress. In this process, individual characters or blocks of text are arranged on a printing press. Ink is applied to the raised surfaces of these characters, and then paper is pressed against the inked surface to transfer the image.

Modern forms of high printing, beyond traditional letterpress, include techniques like flexography, which uses flexible photopolymer plates and is widely used for packaging and labels. Although digital printing has become more prevalent, high printing methods remain relevant for certain applications due to their unique aesthetic qualities, durability, and cost-effectiveness in specific production runs. The tactile impression and the characteristic "bite" of the ink into the paper are often desired features of high printing.
