Légkörei is a term originating from the Hungarian language, translating to "atmospheric layers" or "spheres of the atmosphere." It refers to the distinct, stratified regions that make up Earth's atmosphere, each characterized by its unique temperature profile, composition, and physical properties. These layers are fundamental to understanding various meteorological phenomena, climate patterns, and the behavior of electromagnetic waves.

The primary layers, in order from the Earth's surface upwards, are the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. The troposphere is where weather occurs and its temperature generally decreases with altitude. Above this lies the stratosphere, which contains the ozone layer and where temperature increases with height. The mesosphere is characterized by decreasing temperatures, and it is here that most meteors burn up. Finally, the exosphere is the outermost layer, gradually fading into outer space. The boundaries between these layers are known as pauses.
