Lexua is a fictional constructed language created to illustrate the interactions between vocabulary and grammar in linguistic design. It is not a natural language and is described here as a demonstrative example used in linguistics, language pedagogy, and conlang communities.

Phonology and writing: Lexua has a compact phoneme inventory, including five vowels and about ten consonants, with a simple syllable structure. Stress is generally on the penultimate syllable. The writing system uses the Latin alphabet with a small set of diacritics to indicate vowel length; orthography is intentionally phonemic and regular.

Grammar and syntax: Lexua follows a basic subject–verb–object order. It is an analytic language that relies on particles to mark tense, aspect, and mood rather than verb conjugation. Nouns lack case inflection; adjectives tend to follow nouns; modifiers are placed relatively close to the head noun. Pronouns encode inclusive versus exclusive distinctions, and verbs do not change form for person or number.

Lexicon and word formation: The core lexicon comprises roughly 3,000 root words. New meanings are formed through productive compounding and a small set of derivational affixes. The language aims for semantic transparency, with many roots linked to broadly universal concepts.

Usage and significance: In educational and hobbyist contexts, Lexua is used in translation exercises, conlang experimentation, and studies of lexical-grammatical interfaces. It serves as a hypothetical model for examining how vocabulary selection can shape syntactic structure and discourse meaning, rather than as a proposal for a natural or widely used language.
