lastautod
lastautod is a daemon process that runs on some Unix-like operating systems, primarily those derived from or influenced by Solaris. Its primary function is to manage the automatic mounting and unmounting of file systems, particularly removable media such as CD-ROMs, DVDs, and USB drives. When a device is plugged in or a disc is inserted, lastautod can detect the change and initiate the necessary steps to make the file system accessible to the user. Conversely, when a device is removed or a disc is ejected, it can handle the unmounting process.
