lassumpció

Lassumpció is not a standard term in Catalan orthography; the common form is assumpció, with l'assumpció used when the definite article is required by grammar. The word comes from Latin assumpptio and carries several related senses in different contexts: the act of taking on or accepting something, a premise in reasoning, and the religious feast of the Assumption.

In logic and philosophy, assumpció refers to a proposition accepted for the sake of argument, a premise used to derive further conclusions. It is a starting point or hypothesis within a formal or informal argument. In theology, l'assumpció or l’Assumpció de Maria denotes the belief that the Virgin Mary was taken up body and soul into heaven; the feast is celebrated on August 15 in many Christian traditions. In legal and business contexts, assumpció can describe the act of assuming responsibility or debt, such as assumpció de deutes or other liabilities.

Usage note: in everyday Catalan, the term is written assumpció rather than lassumpció, and capitalization follows standard rules for proper nouns or titles.
