konveksilla

Konveksilla is a term found in Finnish-language mathematical discourse and educational materials, used to describe entities that exhibit convexity. The root is konveksi, meaning convex, plus the locative suffix -lla meaning "on" or "having the property of." In practice, konveksilla may refer to a convex set, a convex polygon, or a convex function when described in problem statements or explanations.

In geometry, a set S is konveksilla if for any two points in S the line segment joining them lies entirely within S. Common examples include the disk, a polygon with all interior angles less than 180 degrees, and the convex hull of a finite point set. By contrast, non-konveksilla (non-convex) sets contain at least one pair of points whose joining line segment leaves the set.

Educationally, konveksilla is often used in textbooks, problem sets, and lecture notes as an accessible label for convexity concepts, helping students distinguish convex from concave configurations. In computational contexts, algorithms compute convex hulls, perform convex optimization, or test convexity of functions.
