Kontrollorgan is a term used primarily in Swedish and other Nordic languages to refer to an organ within an organization that is charged with oversight, control, or supervision of other organs or activities. It is distinct from the executive or administrative organs of the entity.

Functions typically include ensuring compliance with statutes and internal rules, monitoring financial management and risk, conducting investigations into suspected misconduct, auditing or supervising administrative procedures, and reporting findings to the general assembly, board, or higher authorities. The kontrollorgan may also have authority to request information, issue recommendations, or trigger corrective actions when problems are identified.

Contexts in which kontrollorgan is used vary. In public administration, it may audit budgets, legality, and efficiency; in corporate governance, a supervisory board or audit committee may serve as the kontrollorgan; in associations and non-governmental organizations, it provides internal oversight and rule enforcement.
