Kompleksometristen is a term used in some Nordic and European contexts to denote a professional who specializes in complexometric analysis. This field focuses on quantifying metal ions in solution by exploiting their ability to form stable complexes with chelating agents, most commonly EDTA.

The core technique is complexometric titration. In a typical assay, a sample containing metal ions is titrated with a chelator (EDTA) under controlled pH, with an indicator such as Eriochrome Black T or murexide signaling the endpoint, or endpoints detected electrochemically. The stoichiometry is governed by the metal-to-EDTA ratio, often 1:1 for many divalent ions at the chosen conditions.
