Kolomanionen refers to a historical period and a series of events associated with the reign of King Coloman of Hungary, who ruled from 1095 to 1116. His reign is considered a significant period in the consolidation of the Kingdom of Hungary and its integration into Western European political and religious structures.

Coloman inherited a kingdom facing challenges from both internal and external forces. He is primarily known for his legislative achievements, often referred to as the "Laws of Coloman" (Leges Colomannianae). These laws aimed to establish order, define royal authority, and regulate various aspects of Hungarian society. They addressed issues such as justice, land ownership, and the relationship between the crown and the Church. A notable aspect of these laws was the attempt to clarify the status of certain groups within society, including the so-called "völk" or "wolk," who are often interpreted as a specific ethnic or social group whose exact nature remains a subject of scholarly debate.

During Coloman's reign, Hungary also engaged in significant foreign policy. He continued his predecessor's efforts to exert influence in Croatia, eventually leading to the personal union of the crowns of Hungary and Croatia, a relationship that would last for centuries.
