Koerciviteye is a term used in some technical contexts to refer to coercivity, the resistance of a magnetic material to demagnetization. The term is most often encountered in Turkish-language technical literature, where it functionally corresponds to the English concept of coercivity.

Coercivity measures how strongly a material resists demagnetization under an applied reverse magnetic field. In practice, it is expressed by the coercive field Hc, the magnetic field strength required to reduce the material’s magnetization to zero after saturation, or by related energy metrics. The value of koerciviteye depends on intrinsic properties such as magnetic anisotropy and domain-wall pinning, as well as extrinsic factors like grain size, impurities, temperature, and microstructure.

Materials with high koerciviteye, such as Nd-Fe-B or Sm-Co alloys, are described as hard magnets and are used where permanent magnetism is required. Materials with low koerciviteye are soft magnets and are used where easy magnetization and demagnetization are needed, such as in transformers and inductors. Measurements typically involve hysteresis loops (B-H or M-H curves), from which Hc and remanent flux are derived.
