Keepadhere is a term used to describe strategies to maintain adhesion in bonded assemblies. It encompasses practices across design, processing, and quality control that aim to prevent debonding under mechanical, thermal, and environmental stresses.

Adhesion depends on substrate cleanliness, surface energy, roughness, interfacial chemistry, and adhesive properties. Effective bonding requires compatibility between materials, appropriate wetting, and adequate cohesive strength within the adhesive.

Techniques include surface pretreatment such as plasma, flame, or mechanical abrasion; primer or coupling agent application; selecting compatible adhesive chemistries; controlling cure temperature and time; environmental controls; and designing joints that maximize mechanical interlock and seal integrity.

In electronics, automotive, medical devices, packaging, and protective coatings, keepadhere aims to reduce failures due to moisture ingress, temperature cycling, creep, aging, or chemical attack.

Challenges include complex geometries, variable material properties, aging and degradation, recyclability and sustainability requirements, and regulatory constraints on adhesive contents.

Testing and assessment methods include peel, shear, and pull-off tests; surface energy and contact-angle measurements; spectroscopy for interfacial analysis; accelerated aging and environmental chamber tests; and in-line monitoring during production.
