Kaasulakeissa refers to gas laws in Finnish. These are fundamental principles in physics that describe the behavior of gases under various conditions. The most prominent among them are Boyle's Law, Charles's Law, and Gay-Lussac's Law, which together form the basis of the Ideal Gas Law.

Boyle's Law, established by Robert Boyle in the 17th century, states that for a fixed amount of gas at a constant temperature, the pressure and volume are inversely proportional. This means that as the pressure increases, the volume decreases, and vice versa. Charles's Law, named after Jacques Charles, describes the relationship between volume and temperature. It asserts that for a fixed amount of gas at constant pressure, the volume is directly proportional to its absolute temperature. Consequently, as temperature rises, the volume expands. Gay-Lussac's Law, attributed to Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac, deals with the relationship between pressure and temperature. It states that for a fixed amount of gas at constant volume, the pressure is directly proportional to its absolute temperature.

These individual laws are integrated into the Ideal Gas Law, which is expressed as PV = nRT. In this equation, P represents pressure, V is volume, n is the amount of gas in moles, R is the ideal gas constant, and T is the absolute temperature. The Ideal Gas Law provides a comprehensive description of the behavior of ideal gases, which are theoretical gases composed of particles that have no volume and do not interact with each other. While real gases deviate from ideal behavior, especially at high pressures and low temperatures, the ideal gas laws serve as excellent approximations for most practical applications in chemistry and physics.
