Kõlaritüübid refers to the different classifications of loudspeakers based on their design and how they produce sound. One common classification is by the type of transducer used. Dynamic loudspeakers, the most prevalent type, use an electromagnet to move a cone or dome, which in turn displaces air to create sound waves. Ribbon loudspeakers employ a thin, corrugated metal ribbon suspended in a magnetic field, which vibrates to produce sound. Electrostatic loudspeakers use a thin, electrically charged diaphragm stretched between two perforated plates; voltage variations cause the diaphragm to vibrate, moving air.

Another way to categorize speakers is by their frequency response or the range of sounds they are designed to reproduce. Full-range speakers aim to reproduce the entire audible spectrum, though often with compromises in specific frequency areas. Component systems, like those found in home audio and car audio, divide the frequency range among specialized drivers. These typically include tweeters for high frequencies, mid-range drivers for middle frequencies, and woofers or subwoofers for low frequencies.

The physical design and enclosure also lead to different speaker types. Sealed or acoustic suspension enclosures provide a tight, controlled bass response. Ported or bass-reflex enclosures use a port or vent to enhance bass output. Horn loudspeakers utilize a horn shape to amplify sound and improve efficiency, often used in professional audio applications. Open-baffle speakers have no enclosure and rely on the interaction of the front and back sound waves.
