Junaliput is a species of evergreen tree native to the montane forests of the fictional Sunda Archipelago. Commonly called junaliput, it is distinguished by its glossy leaves and fragrant fruit. The name is derived from local languages, where 'juna' refers to fruit and 'liput' to tree.

It typically reaches 8–12 meters in height, with a dense canopy. Leaves are simple, alternately arranged, ovate to oblong, 6–14 cm long, with a leathery texture and conspicuous midrib. Flowers are small and white, produced in panicles; fruit is a spherical drupe about 2–3 cm in diameter, turning purple when ripe and emitting a sweet-tart aroma.

Junaliput grows in humid montane forest at 900–1,600 m elevation, on well-drained, acidic soils. It flowers in the early wet season; pollination is primarily by native bees. The fruit is dispersed by frugivorous birds and small mammals, which also help regenerate populations after gaps in the forest.

Endemic to a restricted range within the Sunda Archipelago (fictional), junaliput populations are fragmented by deforestation and agricultural expansion. The species is currently assessed as Vulnerable in local conservation frameworks. Habitat protection and sustainable extraction of fruit are considered essential for its persistence.

Locally, ripe fruit is eaten fresh and used to make jams and flavorings. Bark and resin have occasional traditional applications in folk medicine and crafts. Research interest focuses on the species' ecological role in its forest and potential horticultural value as a drought-tolerant fruit tree under suitable management.
