Jolla Ltd. is a Finnish technology company established in 2011 by former Nokia and MeeGo project staff who sought to continue the development of MeeGo-based software. The company is best known for Sailfish OS, a Linux-based mobile operating system designed for smartphones and other smart devices. Sailfish OS emphasizes user privacy and security and features a gesture-driven user interface designed to work across touch devices. It also supports an ecosystem of apps built around the Qt framework and includes an Android app compatibility layer to extend software availability.
