Islands Valen is an archipelago in the Valen Sea, comprising about twenty islands and numerous islets. The largest inhabited lands are Valen Major, Eastwatch, and Clearwater, which together sustain most of the region’s population of around 60,000. The archipelago lies in a tectonically active, volcanic area; coastlines are rugged with inlets and sheltered harbors, while inland areas feature terraced hills and small farms. The climate is temperate maritime, with cool summers and mild, wet winters.

Soils on Islands Valen are generally fertile due to historic volcanic activity, supporting agriculture on several larger islands. The surrounding seas host seabird colonies, marine mammals, and diverse coral and fish communities; portions of the coastal and marine environment are designated as protected areas to conserve biodiversity.

Historically, Islands Valen was settled by seafaring communities in the early medieval period and developed as a network of trading and fishing settlements. In the modern era it gained autonomous regional status within its federation, and is governed by a regional council and a governor; the capital is Port Valen on Valen Major.

The economy centers on fishing and seafood processing, aquaculture, and tourism, including nature-based experiences such as bird-watching, snorkeling, and hiking along coastal trails. Renewable energy projects, especially wind farms and tidal power, contribute to the electricity supply. Transportation relies on ferries connecting the inhabited islands, a regional airport on Valen Major, and local ports to support commerce and travel.
